An exploration of melancholia and nostalgia in a once familiar and known environment. Each rotated brush stroke act as a visual representation of “homesickness” despite not leaving one’s home. Painted as one and separated into twelve.

A twelve painting series for Post Company and Scribner’s Lodge using cochineal and ph modifiers gathered from NY State. The silk is mordanted with oak galls gathered from NY Parks and painted over with rust water created from found metal objects.
